Description

The Valley of the Orchids is one of the most interesting nature trails in the Campania Region, the flagship of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, and an obligatory destination for those interested in nature. The idea and the name were born in the early 1990s to communicate research on the botany of the Southern territories.  

In particular, the objective was to affirm the studies and professional experiences of the prof. Nicola Di Novella, pharmacist, naturalist and geobotanist, that were carried out on the nature in the broad sense of the territories of the province of Salerno and in particular of the Vallo di Diano and the Monte Cervati.

As many as 184 wild orchid entities, including species, subspecies, varieties and hybrids, flourish among grasslands, pastures, prairies, grassy slopes and woods.

Throughout the year, guided tours, events, conferences and gastronomic events welcome schools, visitors, enthusiasts, scholars, subject matter experts and all those who choose nature as the first subject for "the quality of life".
